Postcards from Oman – urban attactions Photos by Roxana Farca

While in the previous gallery I decided to show you the natural wonders of Oman,  for this one I selected my favourite urban views.

Muscat is a modern city that preserves itsArabic feel in the Old Town or on the Corniche, along the sea and harbour (Muttrah). The Souk is filled with colour and the scent of burning Frankincense and myrrh, the Old Town is quiet, white and clean and the Omani people wear traditional clothes, especially when employed in official positions.

Another large town is Nizwa, former capital in the 6th and 7th century. Nizwa was also an important spiritual center, as it has always been the home of imams and scholars. The castle there is quite interesting. On the other hand, if you are interested in castles and forts, Jabreen is the one you should not miss.

In the next gallery I will show you a glimpse of rural Oman too.
